Is International Week Becoming Less and Less "International"?

Editor's Note: As a matter of refraining from issuing slander against any particular clubs, the author has deliberately omitted all specific references to any group, organization, or club that participated in this year's International Week.
Every year for one week of blood and sweat (there is never any time for crying), Bolsa Grande High School works itself into a feeding frenzy, transforming a humble school into a multicultural pie with slices sampled from dozens of different nations. We deck the walls with the flags of a score of foreign nations and dress in garish ethnic costume to celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of all the world’s peoples. We dedicate vast amounts of time and effort into performances that provide the average student—normally locked into the tedium of the school day—a glimpse at a world larger than the classroom walls, with far greater depth than the colored outlines on a map.
